First licensed in 1995 as KC8BTP. I took an elective class in high school and left with my Technician Plus license with 5 WPM Morse code. I don't think I ever transmitted with that call sign despite being very interested, but at that age I had absolutely no one to guide me or even suggest a radio. Let this be a lesson to all Ham farmers out there, follow up is important. After that license expired I retested and was granted KE8EKM, and worked my way up to Extra. I enjoy homebrew electronics, antennas, and the smell of solder in the morning.
