Former HARA President and CCARA Member Jim Hause, K8CUH SK.

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of former HARA President Jim Hause, K8CUH. Jim passed peacefully on Friday evening at his home.

According to Connie, Jim requested there not to be any services nor visitation. His burial will be in Warren County. He is survived by a son. He was a graduate of Cincinnati’s old Ohio College of Applied Science.

Prior to his retirement and moving to Lynchburg Jim was a long time employee of the City of Lebanon in it’s water department. Following his retirement he did consulting work for Lebanon and Georgetown, KY along with some smaller water departments within the region.

His knowledge of linking water system radios and repeaters was great as was his DMR knowledge and carried over into those systems used in amateur radio. Until the recurrence of his cancer, he took the lead to link HARA’s Hillsboro 147.21 repeater with the newly acquired Greenfield 146.685 machine. Even while seriously ill, he worked and supported the efforts of Steve Lamb, Tom Archibald and Jeff Collins to get the machines linked and worked with those folks to debug the equipment to make sure it worked.

Jim will be greatly missed. Go in peace.

Jim was one of those few that was always willing to help with whatever you needed help with. I for one appreciate what Jim offered and did for the community and Ham Radio.
